Being Black in America Means Living Under a Cloud of Racism
As a Black man, I can never decide that I want to take a vacation from racism. I AM A BLACK MAN, so some things go with the territory. There are things that will never change, like lies, jealousy, lust for power and money, control of land, voter suppression, and the list goes on and on.
So, as I try to write something light, I cannot get away from the reality of my reality. I need to be refreshed in my soul, but even in a moment of quiet meditation, morning coffee, and good thoughts, the energy of this slave colony has a way of reminding you of who you are. Even in the fiction I write, I can’t get away from the racism cloud. Racial trauma is nothing to laugh at. The reason Kenosha and other places are burning has nothing to do with us. It is the result of the dark window of America’s past being opened up wide. Racial evils are making a great return. It starts from the top like always.
Take care Black people.
