Nothing Has Changed

Nothing has changed. Sure a few laws have changed. Looking back at footage of John Lewis in Selma and how the police attacked them made me realize law enforcement hasn’t changed their tactics. They are here to brutalize Black folks. Police departments are local military units. They gear up to do damage to Black communities on top of the carnage already created by them. We are beaten, murdered, surveilled, monitored and judged. They have no respect for our lives. How can we defend ourselves against the ones with guns?

I’m all for creating a Black Nation because nothing has changed.
